GRE :

• Graduate Record Examination or GRE is a standardized test which is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools principally in the United States, Canada and also in other English speaking countries. Colleges and universities across US use the Graduate record examination to evaluate students.

GRE General Test :

1. This exam is primarily focused on testing abstract thinking skills in the areas of math, vocabulary, and analytical writing.


2. Prospective graduate applicants who plan to enter a US or Canada University take the General Test.


3. GRE test scores are used by admissions or fellowship panels to supplement undergraduate records and other qualifications for graduate study. The scores provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants and aid in evaluating grades and recommendations.

GRE band Scale - WHAT IT MEANS?

• The GRE Subject Tests are designed to test students knowledge of a particular subject area to determine if they have a strong enough foundation for graduate-level work. Each Subject Test is intended for students who have majored in or have extensive background in that specific area. Not all graduate programs require students take the GRE Subject test.

This test is available in eight different areas :

1. Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology.
2. Biology.
3. Chemistry.
4. Computer Science.
5. Literature in English.
6. Mathematics.
7. Physics.
8. Psychology.
